Maybe something that resembles
http://mmmaybe.gimp.org? Without that standard "I'm a wiki, I'm ugly" look attached to it:
remove the menu and toolbar at the top
add a header like mgo or dgo
put a search field at the top
reformat the bar at the end of the page
You should be able to use an alternative CSS-stylesheet in your user preferences:
Branko does not agree that the standard look of a wiki is "I'm a wiki, I'm ugly": rather, it's "I'm a wiki, I can be useful" (something, many, many, very many good looking websites lack completely). Which is not to say that the looks cannot be improved. First suggestion: replace the Moin, Moin! man with Wilber.
But that Moin Moin man looks so cool!
MoinMoin now offers themes - at least it would be easier to create a nice one now. I'm using the rightsidebar, IMO the one with the best usability of those included.
Themes are nice, but the important thing is to change the default one: any user who comes to wiki.gimp.org for the first time should see the same page headers as on www.gimp.org or developer.gimp.org. Once they get familiar with the wiki, they can use other themes if they want, but the default one should be as similar as possible to the one used for wgo and dgo. --Raphal
I suggest use MediaWiki software ( see
